About Proud Poppy Productions

Proud Poppy Productions is an independent, female-led production company founded by a mother and daughter with a shared vision: to create bold, original Australian theatre that celebrates storytelling through dance, music, and heart.

Led by Ashley Grottoli an internationally recognised choreographer, published author, and academic scholar in dance and performing arts, and her daughter Summer — a proud Aboriginal Australian performer and emerging creative talent — Proud Poppy Productions represents the powerful intersection of experience, culture, and generational collaboration.

Our work is grounded in the belief that theatre should be inclusive, inspiring, and just a little unexpected. With backgrounds that span global stages, professional training, and lived cultural heritage, we are passionate about crafting productions that connect with diverse audiences and bring fresh energy to the Australian arts scene.

From intimate cabaret-style works to full-scale musicals like Home Alone: The Australian Musical, our goal is to share stories that are vibrant, meaningful, and filled with joy.
